The School hosted a Book Launch Ceremony on December 6, during which the Honourable Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh, PVSM,AVSM, UYSM, VSM (retd.), released two books written by the renowned defence expert and prolific writer Maj. Gen. G. D. Bakshi, VSM, SM (retd.).

The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest and his formal welcome by the School’s Chairman Mr.Vijay Nagar, who also welcomed CBSE affiliated boarding schools in Dehradun Major General Bakshi and Mrs. Mona Verma, the renowned author and career counselor.
After the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, the School’s dance club presented a ‘Saraswati Vandana’ and the School Choir sang an inspirational song ”Lehron se dar kar.…”.

The School’s Chairman Mr. Vijay Nagar, in his welcome address, welcomed the guests and informed the audience that the purpose behind organizing the programme was to expose the students to a new kind of literary experience.
Major General Bakshi, in a highly passionate address, shared with the audience his assessment of India’s true origin and history and also recollected his experiences during an illustrious career as a soldier.

Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh, in his address, shared with the audience his association with Major General Bakshi and exhorted the students to imbibe a feeling of patriotism to the nation.

The Chief Guest then released the two new books- “Russia-Ukraine War: Lessons Learnt” and “The Quantum Book of Soma: Re-interpreting the Wisdom of the Vedas”.

The interaction with Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh and Major General Bakshi, moderated by Mrs. Mona Verma, was very informative, both the distinguished panelists candidly expressing their views on the Russia-Ukraine War, the lessons that need to be learnt from it and the way forward for the Indian defence establishment.

After the School’s Chairman Mr. Vijay Nagar had presented a memento each to the Chief Guest, General Bakshi and Mrs.Verma, the programme concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem.
